CCS invite you to join us in our Come and Sing for 2014, A Feast of Saint Nicolas, singing two beautiful choral works:
- Saint Nicolas, written by Benjamin Britten in 1948, a dramatic cantata in nine scenes depicting the life of Saint Nicolas, his faith, his miracles and his enduring legacy.
- Vivaldi’s Gloria, his most famous choral piece, presenting the traditional Gloria from the Latin Mass in twelve varied cantata-like sections.
The performance will be at Llewellyn Hall on Saturday 13 December, conducted by Tobias Cole with soloist Brett Weymark and the CCS Orchestra.
Our Come and Sing is open to all singers, including those with no choral singing experience. There are no auditions, and everyone is welcome to join and experience the thrill of singing on the stage of Llewellyn Hall. We will direct you to online resources that will help you to learn by ear if you do not read music confidently.
