CCS launches a Youth Choir in 2013

Could this be you?

Could this be you?

Calling young singers for Canberra’s newest vocal ensemble, CCS New Voices.

Are you between 16 and 26?

Do you love singing a wide range of musical styles from Renaissance to popular and contemporary works? Would you like to meet other like-minded young singers?

Who, where and when

New Voices will be led by Sara Cutler under the guidance of the Artistic Director of CCS, renowned countertenor Toby Cole. Check out Toby doing his thing on New Zealand radio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqMDUanE4mA

Be a part of this exciting new venture from the beginning. Weekly rehearsals start on Wednesday Feb 6 2013 from 7-9pm at St Peter’s Lutheran Church Hall, 6 Boolee Street Reid (opposite Glebe Park).

The first term will be a ‘taster’ with no fees and no auditions.

Workshop opportunity

On April 13-14, New Voices will take part in a workshop and concert with the extraordinary Melbourne musician Mal Webb – a vocal gymnast, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.

Mal uses a world of vocal techniques and writing styles and plays guitar, mbira, slide trumpet, chromatic harmonica, a loop recording pedal and the audience. Check out his YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/malwebb1 for a range of performances and demos.
