Dance away the winter blues at our 1930s Soirée!

LOVE the 1930s? Inspired by Dancing with the Stars or So You Think You Can Dance? Secretly sing along with The Voice or Australian Idol?

JOIN us at Albert Hall on Saturday 7 July for a unique Soirée that will have you rediscovering the fun of dancing the foxtrot, waltz, quickstep and swing to a live band, and singing classic songs of the 1930s.

WE’ll have great music from the Hall Village Brass Band, with Brent Newbery crooning timeless songs by the likes of the Gershwin brothers, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter. Danzón dance studio will teach the dance styles on the night, so there’s no need to be a Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers. Just come along and have fun!

OUR own Tobias Cole will be host for the evening, adding his special touch of 1930s glamour and sparkle. If Brent and the band don’t get you singing along Tobias certainly will, so there’ll be songsheets to help you remember the lyrics.

THE bar will be open, light refreshments will be available, and the music will keep you singing and dancing all night – what better way to spend a winter’s evening? Book your tickets now through Canberra Ticketing.

THE 1930s Soirée will take place from 7:30pm on Saturday 7 July 2012, and is part of the Canberra Choral Society’s innovative Albert Hall Festival. The festival will also include a Tribute to Dame Nellie Melba concert on the afternoon of Sunday 8 July.

TICKETS are available through Canberra Ticketing – Adults $44 / Pensioners $35 / Under 27s $15. Packages (Soirée + Concert) are also available through Canberra Ticketing.
