Membership Fees

Annual membership fees for 2012 are $275 (including GST). The concession rate for full time students and pensioners is $137.50. Prospective new members do not pay membership fees until they know that they are definitely joining the choir.

The Society encourages young singers, voice students and choristers to join. Singers aged 26 or under qualify for the Youth Pass scheme:

  • Youth Pass members are not required to audition if they come recommended by their voice teacher or their previous musical director.
  • Fees for Youth Pass members are waived for the first year.
  • Fees for full-time students aged 26 and under are waived.
  • Full-time tertiary students may apply for a one-year scholarship worth $800, please check details here.

For ordinary members: in accordance with our Constitution, fees are payable in full, regardless of the number of concerts in which a member will be singing in during the year. Members are reminded that these dues are for membership of the Society. There is no mechanism for only part-payment. Where there is financial difficulty, the member should approach the President.

For new choristers joining the choir after the end of June, the fee is $137.50 ($68.75 concession).

Fees are due and payable at the end of the Annual General Meeting and must be paid in full no later than 4 weeks before the first concert, after which membership lapses.

An unfinancial member wishing to re-join the choir will be required to pay the full membership fee, or be treated as a new member and audition at the first scheduled audition. In the latter case, the fee rules for new members will apply (see 4 above). Unfinancial members may not sing in a concert.

Fees are payable to the CCS account:
